Manchester Innovation and Technology Academy (Dubai Branch) signed an agreement with the University of Applied Science in Jordan represented by its Centre for Studies and Consulting. Both parties agreed to work and to cooperate in organising training courses, diploma programs, professional certificates, and seminars according to market needs in the Arab world, which aims to prepare the Arab youth to face future challenges and to invest in future opportunities.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Wissam Steitie, Managing Director of the Academy and Professor Dr. Mahfuz Judeh, President of the University.
On this occasion, Dr. Steitie said: “Today the world is aware on the importance of employing the skills & competencies prior to certifications, and here I advise all academic institutions to reconsider their strategies, visions, and directions, and should redesign all their academic programs in terms of structure, outcomes, delivery model, and tools of assessment. We must agree that the future needs new and ambitious way of thinking, in which we work to design new innovative programs and to be guided by t future skills, work and competencies.”
He also added: “We also need to enhance the quality of continuing vocational education and activate the lifelong learning system in tandem with the concepts of innovation and technology, the pace of change is accelerating, and competition for the right talent is fierce and “talent” no longer means the same concept that we knew ten years ago; Many roles, skills and positions will change tomorrow.”
